Thrusday, July 17th, 2014 Today, we got the star chart in, which is very exciting. It is a really fancy menu; a way for the player to select which planet they want to visit. Piloting the ship to navigate between levels feels a lot more interesting than just a level select. Right now the ship uses 8 frames of rotation. I am thinking that I may need to increase it to 16 so it is smoother - we’ll see. The movement speed of the ship is fairly…

  • Square Enix Could Bring Dragon Quest VII to the West for 3DS

    Shawn Long
    31 Aug 2014 | 10:02 am
RPG’s tend to sell very well on the 3DS, and one that has been out for a while in Japan is Dragon Quest VII for the 3DS. A remake of Dragon Warrior VII (the series title in Japan) for the 3DS, Dragon Quest VII was a huge seller in Japan, selling over 800,000 copies in it’s first week on the market back in early 2013. The game has never been localized for the US audience though, which comes as a peculiar omission. In a recent interview with Noriyoshi Fujimoto, he addressed this issue: “Going back to people who want DQ VII  to come out… we’ve gotten a lot of requests, we…
  • US Breaks Up Illegal Toy Import Ring, Included Nintendo Licensed Characters

Nintendo is not only a video game company, as many people know it to be. Nintendo is also a large manufacturer of toys. Just as there is illegal pirated software sold, there is also an underground market for unlicensed toys. In recent news, an American couple has pleaded guilty to importing a variety of illegal toys from China for resale in the US. These toys included characters from large properties such as Disney, Power Rangers, and Nintendo. This crime was not only considered a large case due to the hundreds of thousands of dollars lost to the licensee companies, but the large harm that…

For example, you’ve got a character like Marth from the ‘Fire Emblem’ series. We thought exposing Marth to a wider collection of consumers through ‘amiibo’ made a…

    Leslie Mikelz

AquaMoto Racing 3D available on the 3DS eShop is a watercraft racing game. Like most racing games your goal is to pass the finish line in first place to get that gold medal all racers strive to earn. During your races, you’ll be performing stunts off of ramps and daringly passing buoys. You’ll find yourself competing in several tracks within each cup to proceed to the grand prix and be number one. Being able to shoot through the water on your watercraft feels fluid enough though that may just be the water making my think that. It’s easy to lose control when you make a small mistake and…

Two events have lined up to make me write this Behind the Notes; I just beat Wind Waker HD, and I revived my DS Lite from the dead. The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks is definitely one of those games that reminds the player how different each Zelda game is from the next. This game is the most modern out of all of the Zelda games, as the world has gone into the industrial era, and steam engines are what New Hyrule is about. The music of Spirit Tracks definitely has a style that had never really been used before. As riding trains are a major part of the game, the makers behind the game focused…
