    Nintendo of America tweeted today that Link’s amiibo figure will be compatible with Hyrule Warriors. This is a game that wasn’t listed as amiibo-compatible until now, but we’ll have to wait to find out exactly how the NFC figure will work with Hyrule Warriors. Since Link’s is the only figure currently announced to work with the game, does this change your previous amiibo purchasing plans?   • Super Smash Bros for Wii U supports up to 8 Players

    Nintendo have announced that Super Smash Bros for Wii U will support up to 8 players simultaneously. The news was revealed during a special Super Smash Bros Nintendo Direct. Described as a “special mode in the game”, the 8 player smash battles will only be available on certain stages. Nintendo will also be adding 4 new big stages in Super Smash Bros Wii U to support the 8 player mode. The new “big stages” are: Palutena’s Temple, Temple (Zelda), Big Battlefield, and The Great Cave Offensive (Kirby). The new 8 player mode will not be available during online play…

    Nintendo of Europe are distributing free download codes for their Halloween 3DS Home Menu Theme. Sent to select Club Nintendo Members via email, the spooky theme and can be redeemed on 2DS/3DS through the Nintendo Theme Shop. The Spooky Black Cat theme features a standard top-screen wallpaper with an animated bottom screen. As users scroll through their home menu, the cats eyes animate to follow the selected icon.     Shovel Knight has been listed on the Italian Wii U eShop with a European launch date of 6th November 2014. Announced with a November release window, this is the first sighting of an actual EU release date from Nintendo. Taken by twitter user Nintendo Hall, the eShop photo shows Shovel Knight listed as “Data di uscita 06/11/2014″ (Italian for “Release date: 06/11/2014″). The Nintendo eShop for other EU countries still lists the software as a 11/2014 release, but if correct, will most likely be updated soon.     Nintendo of America have announced that this Halloween will be a National StreetPass Weekend. The Halloween StreetPass event will be hitting the US from October 31st to November 2nd, 2014. With over 29,000 Nintendo Zone hotspots across North America, Trick-or-Treaters will be able to receive up to six StreetPass tags on their Nintendo 3DS’ over the Halloween weekend.
