  • PN Review: Tilelicious: Delicious Tiles

    Trevor Gould
    24 Apr 2015 | 6:45 pm
If Nintendo fans have played 2048 on the 3DS (or elsewhere) Tilelicious will be easily grasped.  You slide various tiles about to make matching sets, while the playfield gradually fills with new tiles being introduced.  Its design is accessible, yet the execution is a bit humdrum. The game is very simplistic – so much so it makes for a shorter review.  A lack of any modes certainly doesn’t help.  The gameplay has difficulty spikes, in a large part based upon what tile happens to show up next.  The random nature is off putting.  With a linear design, lack of a scoring system,…

  • Square Enix Schedules E3 Press Conference, Overlaps With Usual Nintendo Direct

    Elia Pales
    23 Apr 2015 | 12:10 pm
Square Enix has announced that it will have an E3 press conference this year. This will be the first time that Square Enix hosts a press conference at E3 in several years. The press conference will be held in downtown Los Angeles on Tuesday, June 16th, at 9am, roughly an hour before the E3 show floor opens. What is more stunning than the announcement of the press conference itself, is the exact date and time. Last year, Nintendo held its Nintendo Direct presentation at the same exact time on the Tuesday of E3. If Nintendo decides to hold its Nintendo Direct at the same time as last year, it…

According to a new statement from Nintendo UK, the company’s expectations for the sales of amiibo figurines were completely “smashed.” As a result, the company pledged to try to satisfy demand; however, the representative conceded that part of the appeal of amiibo collecting is the rarity of some of the characters. “Right from the outset we hoped that Amiibo would be strong, but even our expectations have been smashed. With a unique line-up of iconic characters that are loved by so many people, it really has been unprecedented. We hope to do a better job of satisfying…

We assume that this probably means that other players could use Skype, or another messenger service. “And so because we understand that desire for players to have that kind of emotional communication, we can imagine players using some way or another to achieve that extra layer of communication while playing the game.” For more information on Nogami’s…
