Thank you for your passion and quality. I remember smiling when you finally took the beanie off and got me fired up with charity: water. You were the reason I was ahead of the game, and you were always a joy to watch. Keep being an awesome shining star of a person, and I wish you well on your new adventures.

  • Tengami Coming to Wii U eShop on November 13

    Kyle Charizanis
    30 Oct 2014 | 9:21 am
Tengami, the visually splendid brainchild of developer Nyamnyam, will be releasing on the Wii U eShop on November 13th in North America and the EU. The game will be releasing simultaneously in a number of locations all over the world; Japan will have to wait a bit longer. North America, South America, Australia, Europe, and New Zealand will all be able to pick up Tengami at $9.99/£6.99/€7.99, depending on the local currency. Tengami is a game set in a storybook; a “serene journey through ancient Japan.” It’s a puzzle game that’s very aware that its whole world is…
  • A Wii U Masterpiece – Bayonetta 2 Review

Does Bayonetta 2 surpass the Umbran Climax heights of the original? When the original Bayonetta arrived on the video game scene in 2009, Platinum games made history in advancing the action genre. Never before did an action video game allow for such an array of battle animations under the control of the user itself. The game was easy to pick up but difficult to master, and it’s funny that in 2014 Platinum Games would be releasing a sequel with one of the biggest companies in the world that follow this philosophy in game design. Bayonetta 2 is an expertly crafted game from a team that…

Let’s face the facts, there is no better way of getting around than by jet ski. They are the motorcycles of the sea, mechanical stallions ready to carry you over the waves like Poseidon himself. They are freedom and independence in the great blue sea. Sailboats are for old men and motorboats don’t let you do flips in mid-jump. What other mode of marine transportation lets you speed through the narrow walls of a canyon? This is like real life Star Wars pod racing. Leave the canoe behind and get on a jet ski. Okay so not all of us get the chance to bestride these majestic machines.
  • Fantasy Life Review: Bigger is Not Always Better

To be quite honest, I never originally anticipated spending this much time with Fantasy Life. In fact, getting home on October 24th, I was much more excited to begin playing Bayonetta 2. First, however, I needed to play through and review Fantasy Life, a game which at the time stood in the way of Bayonetta 2. Try as I did, though, I failed to play straight through the game. Whenever I committed to completing the next story-mission, I just found myself completing another side mission, or changing my class to get some new gameplay mechanic. In the end, although I intended to speed through…
  • Nintendo Gears Up For eShop Update Featuring Pre-Download

    29 Oct 2014 | 7:48 pm
Nintendo’s eShop has been a great way to purchase content from indie companies that you cannot get in a retail location, but is also a great way for Nintendo fans to pick up the latest retail releases from the comfort of their own home. Nintendo has now announced they are adding even more convenience for both the Wii U and 3DS by adding “pre-download”, starting with Super Smash Bros. Wii U. Basically what the “pre-download” will offer is the ability to purchase and download the game before release date, and then having access to it when it goes live on the eShop.

  • Sakurai Discusses the Amount of Work Required to Develop Smash Bros. Games

In the latest issue of popular gaming magazine Famitsu, Super Smash Bros. director Masahiro Sakurai answered a few questions about the Wii U and Nintendo 3DS versions of the game. In his column, Sakurai also reflected on how much time, effort and dedication was required to make this game a reality. Sakurai-san began by saying the following: “Making things like this takes its toll. Developing Smash Bros. destroys a lot of one’s private life,” he said. “I constantly consider leaving part of the work to someone else, but there’s just too much to see and handle. As a result, I work…

“O Mega Man, Mega Man, wherefore art thou Mega Man?” That’s what I kept saying to myself while playing The Legend of Dark Witch. There’s so many moments in this witchy side-scroller that almost scratched my Blue Bomber itch, but never quite so. All the right components are in place–gripping boss fights, expressive enemies, solid physics–and yet there still something that’s amiss in this CIRCLE Entertainment-published title. This something isn’t entirely apparent at first because, as I mentioned, The Legend of Dark Witch does a fairly decent…

Now that he has returned, it’s safe to predict a Holiday Nintendo Direct shall be in the works.
